The evaluation report issued by the UCI speaks clearly and leaves no doubt: the Lombardia Under 23 was a high-level organization and high-level teams in the U23 category provided a very interesting and competitive race.
First and foremost, safety was a point underlined by the UCI commissioners, who highlighted the high level work with obstacles that were very well protected with foam rubber mattresses. Crossroads and roundabouts with stopped marshals, 5 police cars and 16 police motorbikes, and 16 motorcyclist marshals ensured that everything took place in compliance with the rules and in total safety.
The UCI report also states that the Velo Club Oggiono has brought a high-level organization to the road with expert personnel and that no complaints have been discussed by the teams. The signage, the security, the start and finish area and the ceremonies, all of excellent value. The collaboration agreement between commissioners and the organization is good. The media support was also noteworthy, in particular the live TV streaming with a large screen at the finish line which allowed the public to follow every phase of the race.
The Lombardia U23, a race that is growing more and more, each year refining skills of commitment, coordination, dexterity and professionalism for the purposes of developing elite cycling.
